Control the Order of Pages in the Navigation Panels

Steps

The Navigation Panel lists Pages alphabetically until you pin them, after which the pinned Pages come first in the order you set. Pinning is one of the things the Panels configuration decides.

  1. Open the Navigation Panel administration.
  2. Hover over a Page title in the tree and click "Pin".

  3. Drag the Page to the position you want, or move it with the Alt + Shift + Up and Alt + Shift + Down shortcuts.

FAQ

Why can I not reorder some Pages here?

The tree in this section holds top-level Pages only. Ordering the children of a Page is done from that Page, as Pin (or Unpin) Pages describes.

Why did neighbouring Pages become pinned too?

Pinning a Page pins every sibling before it, and unpinning one unpins every sibling after it, so that the pinned Pages stay one contiguous block at the top.

How do I get the alphabetical order back?

Click "Unpin" on the first pinned Page, which unpins the whole block, then save.
