Exclude Pages from the Navigation Panels
Steps
Excluding a Page from the Navigation Panel takes it out of the tree without hiding or deleting it, which is one of the choices the Panels configuration offers.
- Open the Navigation Panel administration.
- Drag a Page from the tree onto the "Excluded Pages" area, or drag it back to put it into the tree again. Several Pages can be dragged together.
- Tick "Top Level Extension Pages" and "Top Level Application Pages" to leave out whole families of Pages at once, or untick them to list every Page.
- Click "Save".
- The Navigation Panel lists the Pages you kept, as follows:

Are the excluded Pages hidden from readers?
No. They keep their rights and stay reachable through search, the page index and any link. Only the Navigation Panel stops listing them.
A red cross follows the Page while I drag it. Is the drop refused?
No. The tree marks any drop outside itself that way, and the "Excluded Pages" area still takes the Page — the dashed border around the area is what tells you it is a target.
Which Pages do the two filters cover?
"Top Level Extension Pages" drops top-level Pages belonging to an installed extension that is not meant to be edited; "Top Level Application Pages" drops those of an application built with App Within Minutes.
A Page a filter removed must stay in the tree. What now?
Drag it back out of "Excluded Pages": an explicit inclusion wins over the filters.
