Change the Syntax
Steps
To change the Syntax for the current Page:
- Go to the "Information" tab and click on the Edit pencil icon next to the "Syntax" section.
- Select the content Syntax you want to use from the dropdown:
Convert the content to the new Syntax:
- Automatically, by clicking "Yes". If you choose this, you also need to check for conversion errors.
- Manually, by clicking "No".
- Save the modifications (or discard them).
FAQ
Why can I choose only a single Syntax?
By default, only the latest XWiki Syntax is enabled, and thus you might see only a single entry in the dropdown. If your administrator has configured other Syntaxes, then you'll see more options and you can choose what Syntax you want to use for writing the content of a Page.
Why is the Realtime feature disconnected?
When changing the Page Syntax in the "Information" Tab, the Realtime Collaboration feature is currently disconnected. Thus, if other users were editing the Page at the same time, some merge conflicts may occur and they'll need to be resolved.
As a result, the Common Edit Actions will be shown instead of Realtime Edit Actions.
