Steps

To set the default language for the entire Wiki:

1. Administer the Wiki.
2. Select "Content", and then select "Localization" from the dropdown.

   

3. Select from the dropdown the new default language for the Wiki. This setting controls which language is used by default when new Pages are created.

   

4. Click "Save" to apply the changes, or simply leave the "Administration: Localization" Page to discard them.

FAQ

What if I want to use a language with characters not covered by ISO-8859-1?

You will need to adjust the encoding of your XWiki setup as described in the Encodings Page. This ensures that all characters display correctly.
