Read a Page's History

Steps

Have a connected assistant tell you how a page reached its current state, and what any one change did to it (see Agent Authentication for what it may open).

  1. Ask the assistant for a page's history, by title or by reference.

  2. Ask what changed since a version you remember, or between two of the versions it listed.
  3. Check the difference it reports: the removed and added lines of the page's own source.

FAQ

Can the assistant put an old version back?

Yes, where write tools are enabled: ask it to read the old version and write it back. There is no one-step revert, and the restored content is saved as a new version rather than erasing the ones in between.

Does the history cover translations?

Each translation has its own history. Ask for the history of a specific language to see it.
