Steps

Have a connected assistant change a page or create one, where an administrator has enabled the write tools. The assistant saves as you, so the change carries your name (see Agent Authentication).

1. Ask the assistant to make a change: "add a paragraph about backups to the getting-started page". It reads the page first, then applies exact find-and-replace edits and reports the version it saved.

   

2. Ask it to create a page where you need a new one: "create a new page in Sandbox called weekly-status for the team updates".
3. Open the page's history and check the change: it is saved under your own name, and its summary is stamped [AI] so you can tell it apart and compare it with earlier versions.

   

FAQ

An edit keeps failing with "re-read and retry"

The page was modified since the assistant last read it. Tell the assistant to read it again and try again. This is the conflict protection working as intended.

The assistant says it cannot write or create pages

Write tools are disabled by default. Ask your administrator to enable them in the wiki's MCP configuration.
