Connect an AI Assistant
Steps
Connect an MCP-capable AI assistant (see "Assistant Documentation Links") to your wiki's MCP endpoint; it then acts as your wiki user (see Agent Authentication). The browser sign-in below needs the XWiki OIDC Provider extension.
- Configure your MCP client with the endpoint URL your wiki administrator gives you, then complete the sign-in flow it opens in your browser.
- Ask the assistant about the wiki and check that it answers from the wiki's own content rather than from what it already knew.

What is the endpoint URL?
Your wiki administrator should give it to you. Configure the MCP Server documents how it is built.
I got a 404 error, what should I do?
A 404 error indicates that the endpoint is turned off for that wiki, or that the URL is wrong. Wiki ids are case-sensitive, so check the spelling too. Contact your administrator.
I got a 401 error, what should I do?
A 401 error means the endpoint refused the request: either guest access is off, or the credentials your client sent did not authenticate. Complete the OAuth flow your AI assistant offers. If your wiki has no XWiki OIDC Provider, the 401 carries no sign-in challenge; see Agent Authentication for how the client authenticates then.
