Steps

Add the MCP server to a wiki. It is not pulled in by any other extension of the LLM Application, so it is always an explicit install (see MCP Server for what it then exposes).

1. Open the wiki's administration and go to "Extensions".
2. Search for MCP and find "MCP Server (BETA)" among the results.

   

3. Install it, on the whole farm or on this wiki alone, and confirm the dependencies the installer lists.
4. Check that the entry now reports the installed version.

   

FAQ

What do I configure once it is installed?

Everything the endpoint exposes, in the wiki's administration under "Other > MCP Server". Start with Configure the MCP Server.

Do I have to install it on every wiki of a farm?

No. Installing on the farm makes the endpoint available to every wiki, and each wiki then has its own MCP configuration and its own enabled flag.

Is the LLM Application required?

Not for the MCP server itself. The two semantic search tools come from the LLM Application's indexing module and appear only where it is installed.
