Authors of a Page
Explanation
The author represents the user associated with a change made to a Page. This information helps you understand who created or modified content and provides transparency when collaborating with others. As a user, you may encounter the concept of author in several places across the interface, for example:
- In the Index tab of the Page Index,
- In the Page Properties when comparing versions of a Page,
- When viewing the source of a Page,
- In different LiveDatas, etc.
In addition, the creator of a Page (the user who initially created the Page) is displayed in the Content Footer. Depending on the context, different types of authors may be displayed, each serving a specific role.
Currently, all author information for a Page can only be accessed by writing a script. However, in the future, it is planned to have this information available directly in the "Information" tab for easier access
FAQ
Why does the Page show a different author than the one who triggered and saved the changes?
When a Page is saved via a script or any automated process, the author listed is typically the user executing the action, not necessarily the person who actually modified the content. This is the user you usually see as the "author" ("Last modified by.." ), since the script or automated process is considered the "trigger" of the change rather than the actual modifier.
