Explanation

A user account holds a person's credentials, their profile information and their preferences, and the wiki stores each one as a Page carrying an XWiki.XWikiUsers object, rendered by the User Profile Application.

Administrators manage those accounts from the profiles themselves and from the wiki Administration. From a user's profile they edit the profile information, change the password and disable or enable the account without deleting it. Adding and deleting users, customizing the registration Page, setting the password security policy that later password changes must satisfy and handling the accounts that email verification leaves inactive are done from the Administration, and are documented on User Management.

Administrators also decide what a profile shows: they can choose which information the User Profile tab displays for every user of the wiki. What those users may then do is governed by Rights, and who the wiki takes them to be by Authentication.
