Bug Fixing Day 44

Yesterday we had our Bug Fixing Day #44. For the 5.x development cycle we've decided to intensify our bug fixing and invert the bugs created vs bugs fixed ratio so that we're always in the green, by having weekly BFDs.

We managed to close 9 bugs (7 real fixes). We're now behind by 110 bugs for the 1600 days mark.

XWiki 5.2 Released

The XWiki development team is proud to announce the availability of XWiki Enterprise 5.2. This release comes with multiwiki support enabled by default: users are able to create new wikis without the need to install additional extensions. This is possible because the Workspace Application has been integrated in XWiki Enterprise. We stopped the support for XWiki Enterprise Manager as a consequence. Apart from this, the new release brings a Solr-based live search (to replace the one based on Lucene) and the ability to track active XWiki installs. The Distribution Wizard has a new step to upgrade all wikis. Developers will be interested by the new Wiki Stream framework which can already be used to export large wikis in XAR format. A lot of bug fixes (135) and many improvements (50) complete this release and make it worth trying.

See the release notes for more information.

We managed to close 8 bugs (7 real fixes) and we're now behind by 56 bugs for our new goal of closing more bugs than bugs that were created during the past 1500 days! We were lagging by 85 bugs last week! It's good to see that we're closing bugs not just during BFD but also during the other days! emoticon_smile Let's continue that!
