The XWiki development team is pleased to announce the release of XWiki Enterprise 1.8.1 and XWiki Enterprise Manager 1.6.1.

This release contains 118 big bugfixes and enhancements. Most of the modifications are targeting the general replacement of old 1.0 code and content by 2.0 syntax and architecture and the stabilization of XWiki.

Summary of changes since XWiki Enterprise 1.8 :

• Many WYSIWYG bugs fixed and improvements, including a new dialog box wizard for inserting links.
• Many 2.0 syntax bugs fixed.
• Many 1.0 to 2.0 conversion bugs fixed.
• Several XMLRPC and REST, LDAP, Office importer and Wiki Explorer bugs fixed and improvements.
• Many bug fixes in many other places.

This is the second release of XOffice. XOffice 1.0 M2 provides an Word Add-in that integrates XWiki with Microsoft Office. Main changes from version 1.0 M1:

• Improved html filters
• Basic macro suport
• Small UI improvements
• Better XWiki 2.0 syntax support
• XWiki 2.0 syntax and non-filtered local html are now set as default.

The XWiki development team is pleased to announce the release of XWiki Enterprise 1.8 and XWiki Enterprise Manager 1.6.

Changes from 1.7:

• First usable version of new rendering and new WYSIWYG editor
• New Wiki Dashboard
• New way of displaying tags
• Page loading time reduced by 30%
• Improved information section in document footer
• By default the authentication system now calls the authenticator only once by session
• Updated french translation
• Updated german translation
• Updated spanish translation

Important bug fixes:

• Scaled images in exported PDF and RTF have wrong dimensions
• When a wiki is removed, it's not removed form the cache
• Including a document with first or second heading level breaks the including document section edit link
• PDF export does not take into account the encoding specified in xwiki.cfg

The XWiki project has been accepted as a Google Summer of Code 2009 organization. This is the fifth time in a row we're accepted (we've been participating since the beginning) and we're proud of it.

Second Release Candidate of the XWiki Enterprise 1.8 version.

• new "useravatar" macro for 2.0 syntax
• Improvements on 1.0->2.0 syntaxes convertion
• Add ability to configure xwiki to use the XWiki Syntax 2.0 as default when creating new pages
• Bugs fixed in XWiki 2.0 syntax rendering.
• Upgrade to groovy 1.6 final.
• Update french translations
• Update german translations
• Update spanish translation

Important bug fixes:

• XWIKI-3228 - Error while saving xwiki 2.0 documents containing anchor links
• XWIKI-3242 - Entering an empty link makes the rendering blow up
• XWIKI-3252 - Cannot view documents in other languages than the default when in multilingual mode and when using XWiki Syntax 2.0
